Set Date Revealed for Fifth Installment of ‘Cobra Kai’ Series
In the not-so-distant past, the Netflix show Cobra Kai, which serves as a follow-up to the iconic Karate Kid movies, saw the introduction of its fourth season. Unsurprisingly, the team wasted no time and delved straight into crafting the fifth season immediately after wrapping up the fourth, as the upcoming segment of the tale is just on the horizon.
In an announcement made today, Netflix disclosed that the fifth edition of Cobra Kai will hit their platform on the 9th of September, 2022. The official summary reads, “After the surprising outcomes of the All Valley Tournament, Terry Silver is broadening the reach of the Cobra Kai enterprise and striving to establish his ‘No Mercy’ approach to karate as the dominant force. While Kreese is incarcerated and Johnny Lawrence is prioritizing making amends for the havoc he has caused by stepping back from karate, Daniel LaRusso must seek assistance from a long-time companion.”
Back in August 2021, Netflix greenlit the fifth season of Cobra Kai shortly before the fourth season premiered. Following the release of the fourth season, one of the show’s co-creators, Josh Heald, made it clear that there are more narratives to unfold post the fifth season if Netflix expresses interest.

“There’s a lot more material beyond Season 5,” Heald shared with ScreenRant in December 2021. “We are not currently scripting towards concluding the series after Season 5… Season 5 brings with it another significant storyline filled with fresh elements and narratives that have not been explored on the show yet. It’s definitely not the finale.”
