If the recent Space Jam remake didn’t already make it clear, Time Warner possesses a multitude of assets spread across various networks and platforms. From DC Comics to the classic Hanna-Barbera animations, it’s a reasonable assumption that they have control over at least one thing you enjoy. With this array of assets comes a plethora of characters, and as seems to be the trend, when you own a collection of beloved characters, the prevailing strategy is to assemble them all in a colossal clash.

Introducing MultiVersus, a fighting game akin to Super Smash Bros. developed by Warner Bros. Games in collaboration with Player First Games, showcasing a roster of characters sourced from diverse properties. The confirmed lineup currently consists of:

  • Batman
  • Superman
  • Wonder Woman
  • Harley Quinn
  • Shaggy (Scooby-Doo)
  • Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes)
  • Arya Stark (Game of Thrones)
  • Jake the Dog (Adventure Time)
  • Finn the Human (Adventure Time)
  • Steven Universe
  • Garnet (Steven Universe)
  • Tom and Jerry
  • Reindog (Original character)

All these characters are portrayed by their veteran voice actors, featuring Tara Strong as Harley Quinn, Kevin Conroy as Batman, Estelle as Garnet, and Jeremy Shada as Finn. And yes, if you were curious, Shaggy exhibits a power-up aura reminiscent of Dragon Ball, and it is truly remarkable.

MultiVersus will encompass standard game modes, ranging from one-on-one skirmishes to team battles and four-player chaotic showdowns. Notably, character abilities place a significant emphasis on collaboration; for instance, Bugs Bunny can tunnel through the earth, forging a path for his allies. Surprisingly, the game will adopt a free-to-play model, sustaining itself through in-game transactions and adopting a seasonal structure with a battle pass. Moreover, it will support both cross-play and cross-progression, enabling players to engage with others across various consoles and seamlessly continue their progress on different platforms.

MultiVersus is scheduled for a 2022 launch on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam.
