Unknown Individual Crashes Game Awards Stage
The individual made a nonsensical statement, then was arrested shortly after.
On Thursday night, the 2022 Game Awards were presented at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. It was a night of award speeches, game announcements, and musical performances (as well as another bizarre, yet amusing Muppets cameo), but one of the most viral moments of the evening came at the very end. For the final award of the night, Game of the Year, FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki took to the stage to accept the award for his game, Elden Ring. Miyazaki was flanked by a translator and a few members of his staff, but there was one individual who was out of place.
When Miyazaki’s group walked to the stage, an unknown young man joined them from the crowd and joined them onstage, staying in the background. Miyazaki gave his thank-you speech for the prestigious award, but when he finished, the unknown individual forced his way in front and took the microphone to make a baffling statement.
“Hey, my turn. You know, real quick, I want to thank everybody and say I think I want to nominate [sic] this award to my reformed orthodox rabbi, Bill Clinton. Thank you, everybody.”

The individual was rushed from the stage, while the host of the show, Geoff Keighley, quickly wrapped things up. A few minutes after the show concluded, Keighley then posted on his personal Twitter that “The individual who interrupted our Game of the Year moment has been arrested.”
The precise identity of the individual remains unknown at the time of writing. However, he is believed to be a repeat troublemaker at public events, having previously been spotted at BlizzCon 2019, interrupting a panel by shouting “Free Hong Kong.” He also appeared on far-right podcast InfoWars several years ago to talk about the at-the-time ongoing Hong Kong protests.
