‘Tinder Fraudster’ Barred from Dating Sites
Recently, a new documentary named The Tinder Swindler was released by Netflix, uncovering the deceits of Simon Leviev. The documentary, featuring testimonies from various victims, revealed his strategy of reaching out to women on the dating app Tinder, posing as the scion of a wealthy Israeli diamond tycoon facing threats from rivals in the industry. By coaxing his victims into obtaining credit cards for him, Leviev managed to embezzle thousands of dollars before disappearing from their lives.
Following an investigation a couple of years back, Tinder declared that Leviev had been banned from their platform. E! News received a statement from Tinder stating, “Simon Leviev and all known aliases were barred from our service when his fraudulent activities came to light in 2019. He is permanently prohibited from using Tinder. Further investigations conducted before the documentary’s release confirmed that Simon Leviev is not utilizing Tinder or any known aliases on the app.”

The release of the Netflix documentary has prompted other major dating services to proactively ban Leviev from their platforms. Match Group’s spokesperson informed TMZ that Leviev had been blacklisted from all dating services under their umbrella, which includes well-known apps like OkCupid, Hinge, and Match.com.
