The withdrawal of Frank Ocean from Coachella
Frank Ocean has to bow out of Coachella Weekend 2 due to an injury!
Enthusiastic fans of Coachella looking forward to Frank Ocean’s headline performance during Weekend 2 will be disheartened to learn that the singer had to withdraw due to an injury. Reports indicate that Ocean sustained two fractures and a sprain in his left leg at the festival grounds just before Weekend 1, leading to last-minute adjustments in his performance setup.

Notwithstanding the injury, Ocean delivered a remarkable performance of 20 songs, offering reimagined versions of his popular tracks. The 35-year-old artist concluded his set with a heartfelt rendition of Aaliyah’s 1994 classic “At Your Best (You Are Love),” leaving fans mesmerized.
Although Ocean was slated to take the stage as the headliner on Sunday of Weekend 2, Blink-182 is set to step in as a replacement. The pop-punk group, who regrouped as the original trio during Weekend 1, are poised to deliver their signature high-energy show on the Coachella stage.
Ocean’s representatives mentioned that the singer was determined to perform during Weekend 1 despite his injury, and the show had to be rearranged within a 72-hour window out of necessity. However, Ocean has been advised by doctors against performing during Weekend 2.

This isn’t the first instance where Ocean had to step down from Coachella. The singer-songwriter was initially set to headline the festival in 2020 before the pandemic intervened, and his performance for 2023 had already been confirmed with an announcement in August 2021.
It’s always disappointing when an eagerly anticipated performer has to cancel, but fans can take solace in knowing that Blink-182 will still bring their infectious energy to Coachella. Let’s hope for Frank Ocean’s quick recovery and a possible return to Coachella in the future.
