The Story Behind The McFly And Busted Collaboration
McFly and Busted have reunited to form McBusted once more. Harry Judd from McFly and Matt Willis from Busted appeared on Capital Breakfast to discuss their upcoming joint tour as McBusted. This follows an incident on Wednesday night where Busted surprised everyone by showing up at a McFly concert, highlighting that the friendly rivalry between the two bands, considered among the biggest of their generation, is still very much alive.
“I went to see you about 10 years ago… McBusted, that was a thing!” Jordan reminisced.
Harry had a cheekily amusing take on how the collaboration came about: “That was when everyone had forgotten about Matt and James, and McFly brought them back into the spotlight.”
Harry noted: “That was incredibly successful because of the ‘Mc’ in ‘Busted’ and Charlie realized that, wanted back in, and then you went and did some theaters I believe, and now they’re joining us on tour as we head back to arenas.”
As the discussion of their joint tour continued, Harry, alongside his bandmates Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter, and Danny Jones, mentioned they were ‘just going to see what happens’ during the tour.
Matt humorously added: “You’ll play your one hit and we’ll come on and smash the hell out of it.”
The two then teamed up with Chris Stark for a barbecue on the rooftop of Capital’s headquarters, where Chris continued his efforts to promote his Global’s Make Some Noise merchandise, specifically a Capital Breakfast apron.
