Snapchat Unveiling Desktop Edition
Ever since its inception in 2011, the social networking platform Snapchat has solely been accessible on portable gadgets such as smartphones and tablets. This is in contrast to other prominent social networks which offer both mobile and desktop compatibility. Despite this, Snapchat has successfully attracted a specific user base, particularly younger individuals who favor mobile phones over desktops. However, a transformation is on the horizon.
Today, Snap revealed that Snapchat will soon be accessible on desktop computers via the introduction of Snapchat for Web. This particular rendition of the service will enable users to engage in video calls and exchange messages using their Snapchat profile. The web-based application will primarily concentrate on messaging and communication, without fully integrating the Snapchat Stories component for post sharing. Subsequent to its release, additional functionalities will be introduced, including the option to utilize Lenses during video calls.

The initial launch of this fresh feature will be restricted to regular users in Australia and New Zealand, along with premium Snapchat+ members in the US, UK, and Canada. Initially, Snapchat for Web will solely function on Google Chrome, with future plans by Snap to extend compatibility to other web browsers.
