Serena Williams’ Daughter Enjoys Her First Tennis Lesson
It was only a matter of time before Serena Williams’ daughter started playing tennis. The tennis star recently enrolled her daughter in private lessons and shared the entire experience on Instagram. Interestingly, the instructor seemed unaware of who Olympia was, which led to a delightful surprise for her once Williams came to pick her up.
Aiming to avoid being an overly protective parent (regardless of what her husband, Alexis Ohanian, might claim), Williams prepared her daughter for the lesson by showing her clips from her own matches, stressing the significance of “maintaining a wide stance.” Meanwhile, Olympia seemed preoccupied, engrossed in a cartoon on her tablet. “That baby not watching tennis, Olympia,” Williams quipped. She also showcased Olympia’s charmingly small racket, a miniature version of her own professional gear. It’s game, set, match for this little player.
One can only hope that Williams captured some footage of Olympia practicing her forehand or the instructor’s reaction to the unexpected presence of a world champion at what was presumed to be a casual lesson. Regardless, whether or not Olympia is on the path to emulate her mother’s achievements, fans can expect updates on Williams’ Instagram about the outcome of the lesson, whether it went well or resulted in a meltdown.
