Veteran performer Ray Liotta, widely recognized for his leading part as Henry Hill in the 1990 movie Goodfellas, has sadly left us. Liotta passed away peacefully in a hotel room in the Dominican Republic, where he was filming the movie Dangerous Waters. At the time of this article, the precise cause of Liotta’s passing remains undisclosed. He was 67 years old and is survived by his daughter, Karsen, and his fiancée Jacy Nittolo.
“Ray was my companion on Shades of Blue … the first thing that springs to mind is how caring he was towards my children,” expressed Liotta’s former co-star Jennifer Lopez on Twitter. “Ray embodied the archetypal tough guy with a soft core within … maybe that’s what made him such a captivating actor to behold. The original Goodfella.”
“Wherever I am in the world, people inevitably share that their favorite film is GoodFellas,” shared Lorraine Bracco. “They then inquire about the most remarkable aspect of crafting that film. My answer has consistently been … Ray Liotta.”

“He possessed such unique talent, such daring, such valor as an actor,” remarked Goodfellas director Martin Scorsese in a conversation with People magazine. “Portraying Henry Hill in Goodfellas was quite a challenge, given the character’s multifaceted nature, numerous complex layers, and Ray’s presence in nearly every scene during a lengthy, demanding shoot. He truly astounded me, and I will forever take pride in the collaborative work we accomplished on that film. My thoughts are with his dear ones, and I deeply grieve his premature departure.”
