The United States is making progress in the fight against the coronavirus. Vaccination rates are increasing, case numbers are decreasing, and some states are beginning to relax their restrictions. However, a significant number of American adults are showing reluctance towards receiving the vaccine, whether it’s due to concerns about potential side effects or ideological reservations. In an attempt to sway opinions, Global Citizen organized “Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World.”

Vax Live is a grand musical event scheduled to air this Saturday at 8:00 PM Eastern time on ABC, CBS, YouTube, and iHeartMedia broadcast radio stations, as well as on Fox at 11:00 PM. The concert will showcase performances by J Balvin, Foo Fighters, Jennifer Lopez, and other artists, with appearances by celebrities such as Ben Affleck, Jimmy Kimmel, Olivia Munn, David Letterman, Chrissy Teigen, and even President Joe Biden. Among the event’s campaign chairs is Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, who took the opportunity to emphasize the significance of vaccination during these challenging times.

“In the past year, you’ve displayed remarkable courage and selflessness in protecting us all,” Harry expressed. “Your service and sacrifices, your willingness to face danger and act with bravery despite the risks, demands our eternal gratitude.”

He further stressed, “It is imperative that the vaccine reaches every individual, everywhere. Our recovery and peace are not achievable until every corner of the globe receives fair vaccine distribution.”

Harry also touched on the proliferation of misinformation surrounding the vaccines and stressed the importance of seeking proper education. “We must confront these challenges directly: equity in vaccine distribution and countering misinformation. Imagine the impact on lives if vaccine availability matched the pace of misinformation dissemination.”
