Noah Schnapp Endorses Vegan Hazelnut Spread as Nutella Alternative
The young actor from Stranger Things expressed his dismay upon discovering the ingredients of a Nutella jar.
Over the last ten years, Nutella, the chocolate and hazelnut spread, has gained immense popularity as a staple accompaniment to bread in the western world, rivaling classics like peanut butter and jelly. Nevertheless, Noah Schnapp, renowned for his portrayal of Will Byers in Stranger Things, felt deeply let down when he inspected the nutritional details on his beloved Nutella jar for the first time.

“Hazelnuts are not the primary ingredient, and the sugar content alone made me realize I was not making a wise choice,” Schnapp shared in a recent email interview with Page Six.
Disappointed by Nutella’s subpar quality and composition, Schnapp decided to take matters into his own hands by developing a superior alternative. He co-founded a new enterprise to market a vegan substitute for Nutella called “tbh,” featuring natural components and reduced sugar. Moreover, this product is palm oil-free, in contrast to Nutella, whose production involving palm oil contributes to deforestation.

In collaboration with fintech company Republic, Schnapp has initiated a crowdfunding initiative for tbh, urging individuals to invest in the product and make the switch from Nutella.
“I consider investing in line with one’s values as crucial as prioritizing sustainability since I genuinely believe in the impact of our financial choices,” he remarked, highlighting that Republic’s investments extend beyond environmental causes, encompassing his fondness for “social networks, gaming, and various other areas.”
