Microsoft Reveals Innovative Smart Speaker
Since the outbreak of the pandemic necessitated a shift to remote business operations, technology firms have been devising more advanced methods to conduct work and meetings from afar. Microsoft, in particular, has been investing significant efforts in enhancing Microsoft Teams, their video conferencing service, possibly to rival the rising popularity of platforms like Zoom and Slack. As part of this initiative, they have introduced a new gadget to add a touch of sophistication to your home office.
Today, Microsoft introduced their latest Intelligent Speaker, a sophisticated device crafted to enhance the user experience during meetings on Microsoft Teams. Utilized in remote meetings, this speaker can recognize up to ten different participants and automatically create a transcript that specifies each speaker. Moreover, the device also offers live translation capabilities for organizations collaborating across different countries.

Microsoft has been working on this cutting-edge device for approximately three years, but the current global situation, along with the growing trend of shifting businesses entirely remote, likely spurred them to accelerate the development process. This urgency led Microsoft to collaborate with external partners, Yealink and Epos, in developing the hardware.
There is no official word on the release date or pricing of the device yet. Hopefully, they can complete it before widespread vaccination renders it unnecessary. That would be quite awkward.
