I adore sausages. They rank high on my list of preferred foods, though I believe in consuming them in moderation. When the craving strikes, I opt for a pack of my favorite sausages and a bag of my preferred elongated potato rolls. The issue arises from the uneven distribution of sausages and rolls in their packaging, often resulting in either a surplus of sausages or a surplus of rolls. This situation is quite unfortunate, prompting Heinz to push for a resolution.

Heinz has initiated “The Heinz Hot Dog Pact” on, a formal plea to sausage and roll manufacturers urging them to agree on an equal quantity of sausages and rolls in their products.

“Sausages come in packs of 10 while rolls come in packs of 8. Why is that the case?” questions the official statement. “As the longstanding condiment that has been harmonizing flavors for over 150 years, we have decided that enough is enough. This is why we have launched the Heinz Hot Dog Pact. We are calling on major sausage and roll companies to address this discrepancy in hot dog packaging once and for all. Your support through signatures is crucial. Let’s revolutionize the history of hot dogs together.”

As of now, the petition has garnered an impressive 4,706 signatures.

“I have encountered situations where I ran out of either sausages or rolls. Eating a sausage on a slice of bread just doesn’t compare to a properly fitting roll,” expresses one signatory.

“It’s frustrating to have to purchase more than necessary. Let’s reduce wastage,” comments another.

“We are confident that there is a better solution. We believe that the time for change is now, and we remain optimistic,” states Daniel Gotlib, the associate director of brand building and innovation at the Kraft Heinz Co. “As a renowned condiment that has been enhancing the enjoyment of hot dogs for over 150 years, we viewed this as an opportunity to champion the cause on behalf of hot dog enthusiasts across North America and to compel manufacturers to address the issue of unequal packaging.”
