Foo Fighters Reveals Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts

Previously, Foo Fighters were set to perform at the Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogotá, Colombia in March. However, just before their scheduled show, the sudden passing of their longtime drummer, Taylor Hawkins, was announced. This led to the band canceling not only their Bogotá performance but also all upcoming shows.

After allowing themselves some time to mourn, they have now declared that they will be organizing a duo of commemorative concerts to pay homage to their late bandmate. “In memory of our close friend, our exceptional bandmate, our cherished sibling… Foo Fighters and The Hawkins family present the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Shows,” as shared on their official Instagram account.

Both concerts will showcase the remaining Foo Fighters’ members, which include Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, and Rami Jaffee, in performances in London and Los Angeles. The initial show is slated for London’s Wembley Stadium on September 3, while the subsequent one will take place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on September 27.

The band has been granted the heartfelt approval of Hawkins’s family for hosting these concerts. Through Hawkins’s Instagram account, his spouse, Alison Hawkins, conveyed a note of gratitude to the fans for their compassion and backing.

“I extend my deepest gratitude and respect to the worldwide Foo Fighters community and Taylor’s supporters across the globe for the immense love that each and every one of you has shown towards our beloved Taylor. Your benevolence has provided immeasurable solace for my family and me during this period of indescribable sorrow,” articulately stated the message.
