An original Stranger Things theatrical production is set to grace the stages of Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End district. The performance, named Stranger Things: The First Shadow, was crafted by series writer Kate Trefry, with blessings from the Duffer brothers, the minds behind the series. Interestingly, the script is based on a tale co-authored by the Duffers and writer Jack Thorne, overseen by Stephen Daldry.
This narrative unfolds 25 years prior to the series, spotlighting younger versions of Hopper, Joyce, and other well-known characters as they confront the looming shadows of Hawkins.
An exclusive prequel stage presentation of ‘STRANGER THINGS’ is lined up for a late 2023 debut.

“Our collaboration with the talented Stephen Daldry has been incredibly inspiring, and Kate Trefry has crafted a play that is both surprising and heartfelt,” stated the Duffer Brothers. “Prepare to encounter new, lovable characters alongside familiar faces, on a journey into the past that lays the foundation for the future of Stranger Things.”
The premiere of the show is scheduled for late 2023.
