Dwayne Johnson to Star in Another Video Game Movie

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been landing movie roles left and right recently, including major action blockbusters like the latest Fast & Furious and the upcoming Black Adam. Among those major hits have been several films inspired by or related to video games, including Rampage and the newer Jumanji films. Johnson has been developing quite a rapport with the gaming sphere lately, even making appearances in cutscenes as a major character in Fortnite. After all the gaming, it seems Johnson has acquired a taste for it, because he’s got another gaming film on the horizon.

In an interview with Men’s Journal, Johnson teased a new video game-based film project, though he couldn’t quite divulge which game the film is based on just yet. “I can’t tell you which game in particular we’re doing, but there will be an announcement this year,” he said. “We’re going to bring one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen — one that I’ve played for years.”

While the inspiration for the film remains unknown, Johnson said he’s committed to making a movie that can be enjoyed by both fans of this particular game and those who just enjoy a fun movie watching experience.

“I’m really excited to bring it to fans around the world,” he added. “Of course, we’re going to do right by our gamer friends — but really we’re just going to make a great movie.”
