Anya, 4-Year-Old German Shepherd Dominates Family Game Night
Anya excels during family game night, and the surprising part? She is a 4-year-old German Shepherd.
Whether it’s Jenga or Tic-Tac-Toe, Anya participates in nearly all classic family games by delicately picking up the pieces with her teeth.
“Anya never fails to amaze us,” shares Lori Knoble, her owner. “From the very start, she was remarkably helpful and intelligent. She would take the laundry out of the dryer, bring us the T.V. remote, and much more.”
During Tic-Tac-Toe, Anya uses treats to indicate which square she intends to claim.
Lori and her husband John acquired Anya from a nearby breeder when she was just 12 weeks old.
In the early days of quarantine back in April, the couple from Ohio was searching for a way to keep themselves entertained, so they decided to pull out Jenga and set up the wooden blocks.
“There she was, ready to join in,” Knoble recounted. “Without any prior training, she instinctively figured out what to do. I was playing, and she went for a block, managing to maintain the tower’s stability—all while looking so casual.”
The Knobles captured footage of Anya while playing, which marked the beginning of many games for the clever and adorable dog.
“She has truly been a blessing to us, and we hope to share her cheerful, wonderful, and silly antics with the world to spread love and joy,” Knoble expressed.
