Detained along with his brother on charges related to human trafficking.
Andrew Tate, the contentious social media personality, and his sibling Tristan Tate were taken into custody and relocated from their lavish residence in Bucharest, Romania. They are under suspicion in an ongoing investigation involving sexual assault and the illegal trade of humans, and are presently awaiting transfer to a detention facility. “The quartet… likely established an organized criminal network aimed at recruiting, housing, and exploiting women by coercion into producing explicit materials intended for distribution on specialized websites at a price,” a spokesperson from the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism informed the BBC.

Earlier this week, Tate engaged in a verbal exchange on Twitter with the prominent eco-advocate Greta Thunberg, flaunting images of his automobile collection and disregarding environmental concerns. Thunberg countered with a biting response, which quickly gained traction. In an attempt to salvage his reputation, Tate uploaded a video showing himself devouring pizza and retaliating against Thunberg. Supposedly, the pizza box he consumed from belonged to a chain exclusive to Romania, which facilitated authorities in pinpointing his whereabouts.
