Amazon Announces Season 4 Premiere Date for ‘The Amazing Mrs. Maisel’
Wow, has it really been two whole years since the third season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel? It’s surprising to realize that amidst the ever-shifting landscape of the pandemic time warp, we’ve lost track of even television show seasons and schedules. Nevertheless, it has indeed been two years since Midge’s departure from Shy Baldwin’s tour in 2019. After a considerable wait, the bold comedian is gearing up to reclaim her spot in the spotlight, undeterred by any obstacles that may come her way.
Just today, Amazon Prime unveiled a sneak peek for the upcoming fourth season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, slated to premiere on Prime Video this year. Unlike its predecessors, which were released in binge-ready bundles, this season will adopt a more traditional weekly episode format, with two fresh episodes dropping every Friday across a month.
Described as “a time of change in 1960,” the teaser hints at Midge’s quest to refine her craft and carve out her artistic space. However, her relentless pursuit of comedy brings about tensions between her and the familiar faces in her life.

The upcoming season will continue the story shortly after the events of the previous season. Following her controversial exit from Shy Baldwin’s tour due to her jokes about his sexuality, Midge (portrayed by Rachel Brosnahan) and Susie (played by Alex Borstein) find themselves back at square one. Frustrated by censorship, Midge takes a stand: no more opening acts. She demands to be the headlining act where she can freely joke about anything she pleases. Susie cautions her about the industry norms, to which Midge boldly responds, “let’s change the game then.”
The fourth installment of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will debut on Prime Video on February 18, 2022.
