A$AP Rocky to Face Legal Action for 2021 Shooting Event

On November 20, a judge in Los Angeles declared that A$AP Rocky (birth name Rakim Mayers) will be tried in connection with a shooting incident in 2021 involving his associate A$AP Relli (birth name Terell Ephron). At 35 years old, A$AP Rocky faces two serious charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and has pleaded not guilty. The judge’s decision was informed by “the overall content of the video and testimonies” presented during the hearing.
Joe Tacopina, the legal representative for A$AP Rocky, spoke to the media outside the court, stating, “We anticipated the trial and have been preparing for it. We are neither disheartened nor surprised. Rocky will undoubtedly be exonerated once the proceedings are concluded.”
During the preliminary hearing, A$AP Relli stated that a confrontation transpired between the two on November 6, 2021. According to a press release from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, A$AP Rocky allegedly aimed a weapon at Relli “during an intense discussion.”

Subsequently, prosecutors claim that A$AP Rocky allegedly discharged two rounds towards A$AP Relli during another encounter. Relli’s legal team, comprising Jamal Tooson and Brian Hurwitz, asserted that A$AP Rocky arrived armed with a semi-automatic handgun without warning or justification.
“To Mr. Ephron’s unawareness, A$AP Rocky arrived equipped with a semi-automatic gun,” stated Relli’s attorneys in a previous statement to Rolling Stone. “After arriving at the location, a conversation ensued during which, without any warning or justification, A$AP Rocky brandished the gun and deliberately fired multiple shots at Mr. Ephron.”
Relli reportedly sustained minor injuries to his left hand during the incident.
The trial is scheduled to proceed, and A$AP Rocky maintains his not guilty plea to the accusations.
